News: Breast Cancer Awareness Art Featured on "Rob on the Road" TV ShowJuly, 2010 A Journey of Hope: Rob on the Road visits Gayle Rappaport – Weiland’s Studio in Rocklin, CA KVIE’s Rob Stewart, host of Rob on the Road, has admired Gayle’s expertise and commitment to the arts. Rob's plan of visiting Gayle’s studio was timed perfectly to film the Breast Cancer project in which she was involved. Rob on The Road will feature Gayle Rappaport – Weiland and Gini Crepps talking about how they joined forces and were selected by SOUTH PLACER ART IN PUBLIC PLACES to create a special piece of art utilizing an approximate 6’ tall Breast Cancer Ribbon. Gayle received the OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS, and in a quiet moment, it came to her that this project was about collaboration. Gini Crepps was a survivor, student and graphic artist that Gayle knew was the teammate in which she was supposed to connect. Their theme: Soul Survivor…Symbol of Hope; was an outreach to the local community and beyond for memorabilia of survivors and friends. These artists shared the belief that this cause was about awareness and not personal gain. They lived this project through tears, laughter and hope. Rob will now bring this extraordinary project to your home on Rob on the Road, airing on KVIE starting July 6th. South Placer Art in Public Places, a nonprofit charitable corporation, is preparing to host its inaugural Art in Public Places Tour to bring awareness to the fight against breast cancer and the importance of art in the community. Soul Survivor… Symbol of Hope Ribbon has already been sponsored by Go Girl Energy Drink by Nor Cal Beverage. The ribbon will go up for sale Sept 25.
